The Peasant and the Cucumbers

Leo Tolstoy - The Peasant and the Cucumbers

A peasant goes to steal cucumbers, and as he sees endless lands of cucumber plantations,
he starts to imagine how he would spend the money earned by selling all the cucumbers, ultimately becoming a rich squire. As he dwells in his fantasy, he imagines thieves similar to his very self, taking his cucumbers, and shouts at them, not noticing he is only a squire in his imagined reality. Hearing the loud cryout, the guards of the cucumber plantatons wake up, and catch the peasant.
